BEIJING, June 14 (Xinhua) -- The solar photovoltaic (PV) water intake project donated by China has been successfully delivered to its Indian counterpart, according to the Chinese Consulate General in Mumbai, India.
As a China-India solar innovation collaborative poverty alleviation demonstration project, the project is jointly donated by the Chinese government and a Chinese company, according to Zheng Xiyuan, Consul General of China in Mumbai.
More than 700 cubic meters of water can be pumped each day when the project system operates at full capacity, benefiting more than 1,200 people and 800 hectares of land in the three villages where the project is located. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
