BEIJNG, June 6 (Xinhua)-- Shanghai STEP Electric Corporation (002527.SZ) announced on late Tuesday that it had signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com.
According to the agreement, the two parties plan to establish a fully strategic cooperation partnership in the sector of intelligent logistics, and accelerate the implementation and application of smart logistics equipment and service robot, especially in the cooperation of smart robot manufacturing sector.
Research report of China Securities considered that the robot business of Shanghai STEP Electric saw a rapid growth in recent years thanks to the development of Intelligent manufacturing equipment. The company has launched kinds of robot products and related supporting services, covering the fields of 3C, white home appliances, auto parts, food and drinks, and metal processing.
Data showed that the growth rate of domestic robots in 2010-2016 was 34 percent. In 2017, the sales volume of domestic industrial robots reached 130,000 units, an increase of 81 percent year on year. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
