It is also an important base of energy and chemicals, as well as halal food and Muslim products.

With the deepening of reform and further opening up to the outside world, the foreign investment in Ningxia has gradually expanded from the traditional processing and manufacturing to service-related fields such as gas station construction, food and health care.
The report suggests foreign investors take opportunities in such industries as green agriculture, modern coal-based chemical industry, new energy, tourism and e-commerce.
