BEIJING, May 29 (Xinhua) -- The C1 section of the Chachoengsao-Kaeng Khoi dual-track railway project in Thailand undertaken by CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Company, or SHEC and China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC) completed subgrade construction on May 24.
This is the first overseas railway project of SHEC and CHEC that covers both subgrade and rail line system.
The project could reduce transportation cost between eastern seaboard area and northern, northeastern area in Thailand as well as improve railway operation safety when competed.
The project construction period is February 19, 2016 to February 18, 2019.
Currently, the project is expected to complete two months ahead of schedule. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
