BEIJING, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Vientiane Saysettha Development Zone, involving a planned investment of about 500 million U.S. dollars, has already attracted 45 enterprises from many countries and regions including China, Laos, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia to settle down, according to the report by People's Daily.
Liu Hu, deputy general manager of Yunnan Provincial Overseas Investment Co., noted that after the completion of three phases’ construction, the development zone is expected to attract about 150 enterprises to settle down, generating 6 billion U.S dollars worth of annual output and creating over 30,000 jobs for Laos.
Vientiane Saysettha Development Zone, covering an area of 11.5 square kilometers, is a state-level cooperative project jointly established under the auspices of the governments of China and Laos and also China’s the only state-level overseas economic trade and cooperation zone in Laos.
