BEIJING, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Guangzhou, capital of south China’s Guangdong Province, will set up an artificial intelligence enterprise library, in which 169 key enterprises in the field will be included in 2018 and enjoy favorable policies.
The move is aimed at seizing the golden opportunity faced by artificial intelligence industry and accelerating technology research, product manufacturing as well as leading enterprise cultivation. Key enterprises in the library will enjoy preferential support including subsidies, awards, discount and direct equity investment.
In 2017, Guangzhou put forward an action plan to promote the development of information technology, artificial intelligence and bio-pharmaceutical industry (IAB). The move is one of the measures to implement the action plan.
Voluntary application and government recommendation are two ways for potential enterprises to be included in the library. (Edited by Zhang Yuan, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
