It was the first training of the Seminar Series of Business Gateway to China event with the theme of “Next Station: China!”. Senior executives from the Chinese e-commerce company JD.com introduced to the Thai enterprises the platform’s functions, business models and application of logistics system in Thailand, and lectured on how to register companies in China and how to choose business partners.

“China is Thailand's largest trading partner. The bilateral trade volume of the two countries reached 74.14 billion U.S. dollars in 2017 and is expected to be uplifted to 120 billion U.S. dollars in 2020,” said Thailand’s Commerce Minister Sontirat Sontijirawong, adding that it has been an irreversible trend for Thailand to accelerate its transition to an e-commerce economy. China has witnessed the rapid development in e-commerce. The training program has offered a good opportunity for the Thai enterprises to get access to the Chinese market.

Jitti Tangsithpakdi, chairman of the Thai CC, said that “many Thai companies have already regarded the entrance of Chinese market as their strategic target. We hope that more enterprises and people in Thailand can learn more about China, gain more opportunities from China's development and keep up with the "high-speed train" of China's sustained economic development.”

“China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative and Thailand's Industry 4.0 strategy have created a brilliant future for the deep cooperation between two countries,” noted Liu Mingxia, vice president of CEIS, adding that in the past three years, more and more Chinese national brands have entered Thailand. Chinese mobile phone brands like Huawei and OPPO are popular among the Thai people. China’s bike-sharing company Mobike has entered the Thai campus. JD.com has fully settled in Thailand. Promoting practical and pragmatic cooperation between the two countries is the original intention of this event.
