China imported 106,698.4 tons of chicken meat and its products from January to March 2018, an increase of 4.6 percent year on year. The imports amounted to 250.3 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 9.7 percent year on year. The average price was 2,345.6 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 4.9 percent year on year.
In March alone, China imported 46,523.9 tons of chicken meat and its products, an increase of 52.9 percent month on month. The imports amounted to 107.0 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 44.5 percent month on month. The average price was 2,298.9 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 5.5 percent month on month. Compared with March 2017, there was an increase of 32.4 percent in quantity, an increase of 37.3 percent in value, and an increase of 3.8 percent in average price.
In terms of import origin by continents, Asia exported 150.7 tons of chicken meat and its products to China from January to March 2018, an increase of 634.1 percent year on year, or 238,206 U.S. dollars, an increase of 148.2 percent year on year, at an average price of 1,581.1 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 66.2 percent year on year; South America exported 106,537.7 tons, an increase of 5.8 percent year on year, or 250.0 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 11.2 percent year on year, at an average price of 2,346.4 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 5.0 percent year on year; North America exported 10.1 tons, or 54,375 U.S. dollars, at the same time of last year was zero, at an average price of 5,410.4 U.S. dollars per ton.
In March alone, Asia exported 150.5 tons of chicken meat and its products, an increase of 936.2 percent year on year, or 237,838 U.S. dollars, an increase of 260.6 percent year on year, at an average price of 1,580.4 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 65.2 percent year on year; South America exported 46,363.4 tons, an increase of 32.0 percent year on year, or 106.7 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 37.1 percent year on year, at an average price of 2,300.6 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 3.9 percent year on year; North America exported 10.1 tons, or 54,375 U.S. dollars, at the same time of last year was zero, at an average price of 5,410.4 U.S. dollars per ton.
Among all the countries and regions that exported chicken meat and its products to China from January to March 2018, in terms of value, Brazil ranked first with 214.1 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 15.0 percent year on year; Argentina ranked second with 26.0 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 9.1 percent year on year; Chile ranked third with 9.9 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 2.0 percent year on year.
In March alone, Brazil ranked first with 91.7 million U.S. dollars in March 2018, an increase of 38.7 percent year on year; Argentina ranked second with 11.0 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 29.2 percent year on year; Chile ranked third with 3.9 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 24.7 percent year on year.
