China exported 84,858.5 tons of tea from January to March 2018, a decrease of 1.4 percent year on year. The value of China's tea exports amounted to 371.6 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 12.4 percent year on year. The average price was 4,378.9 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 14.0 percent year on year.
In March alone, China exported 25,685.7 tons of tea, a decrease of 9.3 percent month on month. The exports amounted to 111.5 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 0.3 percent month on month. The average price was 4,342.0 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 10.6 percent month on month. Compared with March 2017, there was a decrease of 24.3 percent in quantity, a decrease of 15.2 percent in value, and an increase of 12.0 percent in average price.
Among all the countries and regions that imported tea from China from January to March 2018, in terms of value, Morocco ranked first with 63.2 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 4.2 percent year on year; Hong Kong ranked second with 46.6 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 23.2 percent year on year; Vietnam ranked third with 21.6 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 76.4 percent year on year.
In March alone, Morocco ranked first with 19.1 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 14.2 percent year on year; Hong Kong ranked second with 17.0 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 12.7 percent year on year; Ghana ranked third with 5.3 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 23.7 percent year on year.
