BEIJING, May 7 (Xinhua) -- 1,092 listed firms on the Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses have released their business forecast for the first half of 2018 by May 4, of which 755 firms predicted improved financial results, accounting for 69.13 percent.
Of the 755 firms, 147 expected their net profits to double. Among them, 8 firms predicted a profit surge of 10 times or more compared with a year earlier, with Venustech Group Inc. leading the profit growth.
167 companies expected continued profit gains in the first half of this year, of which 97 companies predicted a positive net profit growth.
Analysts noted that the positive profit forecast came amid signs of improvement momentum in some sectors.
