BEIJING -- Sugon Information Industry Co Ltd hopes to expand both its upstream and downstream industrial chains through cooperation with telecom carriers, government and businesses in the manufacturing and financial sectors, as well as master more core technologies such as high-performance computing.
Sugon will continue to integrate artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing and other cuttingedge technology in the construction of intelligent cities, and offer tailor-made IT solutions for different industries, said Ye Jian, chief operation officer of Sugon.

The company has already expanded its presence in fields such as servers, storage and security products, cloud computing, big data and artificial intelligence.
"The nation needs to invest more in core technologies, and we expect to make a greater contribution with core technologies, including the high-performance computing," Ye said.
Sugon signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Fujian Electronics & Information (Group) Co Ltd during the first Digital China Summit which was held in Fuzhou, Fujian province, from April 22 to April 24, to jointly build and operate a supercomputing and advanced computing center in Fujian.
The partners will offer advanced computing capacity and corresponding computing application services to the countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, in order to further drive forward international technology cooperation, according to Sugon.
Sugon launched two advanced computing products based on artificial intelligence and big data technology, including medical image diagnosis robot and video analysis system.
Through machine-learning and image recognition technologies, the robot can improve the diagnostic efficiency and quality of hospital medical image and greatly reduce the misdiagnosis rate, according to the company.
Backed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sugon is the developer of the supercomputer Nebulae or Dawning 6000, which ranked second on the top 500 list of the world's most powerful supercomputers in 2010.
Moreover, Sugon is dedicated to developing urban and industrial cloud computing and big data business, and promoting the building of a cloud data service network covering hundreds of cities and sectors to provide a host of intelligent applications and services for the government, industry and the public.
According to the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the global cloud computing market could be worth as much as 143.5 billion U.S. dollars by 2020, and China is one of the world's fastest-growing markets. (Source: China Daily)
