BEIJING, May 3 (Xinhua) -- China imported 435.9 metric tons (tonnes) of vermouth in the first three months of 2018, an increase of 70.1 percent year on year, according to a month report released jointly by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's vermouth imports amounted to 1.244 million U.S. dollars in January to March, an increase of 89.6 percent year on year. The average price was 2,853.3 U.S. dollars per tonne, an increase of 11.4 percent year on year.
China imported 213.1 tonnes of wine in March, 2018, an increase of 460.4 percent month on month. The value of China's vermouth imports amounted to 537,000 U.S. dollars, an increase of 540.8 percent month on month. The average price was 2,519.8 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 14.4 percent month on month.
Compared with March 2017, there was an increase of 64.2 percent in quantity, an increase of 99.6 percent in value, and an increase of 21.6 percent in average price. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
