BEIJING, May 2 (Xinhua) -- China imported 106,897.2 metric tons (tonnes) of poultrymeat and its products, a increase of 3.8 percent year on year from January to March this year, according to a monthly report released jointly by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's poultrymeat and its products imports amounted to about 250.8 million U.S. dollars during the period, an increase of 9.1 percent year on year.
In March, China imported 46,603.1 tonnes of poultrymeat and its products, an increase of 52.8 percent month on month and the value of China's poultrymeat and its products imports amounted to 107.12 million U.S. dollars, up 44.3 percent month on month.
According to the report, Brazil ranked first by value in March, among all the countries and regions that exported poultrymeat and its products to China,with the poultrymeat and its products export worth 91.74 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 38.7 percent year on year.
