BEIJING, May 2 (Xinhua) -- China imported 200,568.1 metric tons (tonnes) of wine in the first three months of 2018, an increase of 32.3 percent year on year, according to a month report released jointly by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's wine imports amounted to 792.007 million U.S. dollars in January to March, an increase of 35.8 percent year on year. The average price was 3,948.8 U.S. dollars per tonne, an increase of 2.6 percent year on year.
China imported 70,211.9 tonnes of wine in March, 2018, an increase of 99.8 percent month on month. The value of China's wine imports amounted to 268.669 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 77.1 percent month on month. The average price was 3,826.5 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 11.3 percent month on month.
Compared with March 2017, there was an increase of 31.2 percent in quantity, an increase of 32.5 percent in value, and an increase of 1.1 percent in average price. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
