MADRID, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese automaker Geely Auto launched its new electric vehicle, the Geely E2, in Madrid on Wednesday, marking the introduction of its third model in Spain less than six months after it entered the Spanish market.
The new model was unveiled at Madrid's Teatro Capitol, where company representatives, dealers, partners and media gathered for the launch event.
Geely officially entered the Spanish market in March with the Starray EM-i and Geely E5. The arrival of the E2 expands the company's local lineup to three models as it steps up its presence in the country.
Li Lei, managing director of Geely Auto Spain, said the launch represents an important step in the company's strategy in Spain, adding that the company aims to make electric mobility accessible to a broader range of consumers.
The Chinese automaker currently has 50 sales and service points across Spain and plans to expand its network to 80 by the end of 2026.
Geely Auto Group sold more than 3.02 million vehicles globally in 2025, up 39 percent year-on-year. Sales of new energy vehicles reached nearly 1.69 million units, an increase of 90 percent from the previous year, according to the company.
