BEIJING, May 2 (Xinhua) -- China exported 7,676.2 metric tons (tonnes) of black tea in the first quarter of the year, a decline of 8.5 percent year on year, according to a month report released jointly by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's black tea exports during the period amounted to about 49.36 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 18.6 percent year on year.
In March, 2018, China exported 2,578.5 tonnes of black tea, down 1.3 percent month on month and the value of China's black tea exports amounted to about 13.77 million U.S. dollars, up 4.7 percent month on month. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
