BEIJING, Apr.25 (Xinhua) -- China's leading baijiu producer Wuliangye opened its store in Singapore, aiming to promote its products and spread China’s alcoholic drink culture in the country.

The company’s chairman Li Shuguang earlier proposed to speed up the internationalization of Wuliangye Group at the World Expo in Astana, Kazakhstan in 2017, according to Wang Ping, chairman with Yibin Wuliangye Group Import and Export Co., Ltd. The company has set up three major marketing centers at overseas, including Hong Kong, New York, and Dusseldorf.

Wang added that the Singapore store of the company is the second store opened at overseas by Wuliangye. The company also plans to open stores in Paris, Los Angeles, and Australia in a near future.

Jiang Wenchun, general manager assistant with the group said in the process of going global, Wuliangye hopes to use overseas marketing centers to better serve and radiate the global market.

Jiang believes that China's baijiu industry still has a long and complex process to go global. In the next step, the company plans to adjust industrial structure and spread the Chinese baijiu culture, so as to jointly cultivate the overseas market.  (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
