BEIJING, Apr. 4 (Xinhua) -- China imported 142.8 tonnes of tequila from January to February, 2018, down 4.7 percent year on year, according to a monthly report jointly released by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's tequila imports amounted to 714,000 U.S. dollars during the period, down 14.2 percent on year.
In February alone, China imported 42.7 tonnes of tequila, up 3.7 percent on year, with value standing at 125,000 U.S. dollars, down 42.8 percent year on year.
From January to February, 2018, among all the countries and regions that export tequila to China, Mexico ranked the first by 700,000 U.S. dollars in value of tequila, down 14.3 percent year on year followed by Spain and France.
In February, 2018, Mexico ranked first with a value of 125,000 U.S. dollars. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
