BEIJING, Apr. 2 (Xinhua) -- China imported 221.6 metric tons (tonnes) of vermouth in the first two months of 2018, an increase of 75.3 percent year on year, according to a month report released jointly by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's vermouth imports amounted to 704,000 U.S. dollars in January to February, an increase of 82 percent year on year. The average price was 3,178.5 U.S. dollars per tonne, an increase of 3.8 percent year on year.
China imported 38 tonnes of vermouth in February, 2018, a decrease of 79.3 percent month on month. The value of China's vermouth imports amounted to 840,000 U.S. dollars, a decrease of 86.5 percent month on month. The average price was 2,203.6 U.S. dollars per tonne, a decrease of 34.8 percent month on month.
Compared with February 2017, there was a decrease of 48.8 percent in quantity, a decrease of 60.7 percent in value, and a decrease of 23.4 percent in average price. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
