BEIJING, Apr. 2 (Xinhua) -- China imported 130,367.0 metric tons (tonnes) of wine in the first two months of 2018, an increase of 33.0 percent year on year, according to a month report released jointly by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's wine imports amounted to 523.328 million U.S. dollars in January to February, an increase of 37.6 percent year on year. The average price was 4,014.3 U.S. dollars per tonne, an increase of 3.5 percent year on year.
China imported 35,147.4 tonnes of wine in February, 2018, a decrease of 63.1 percent month on month. The value of China's wine imports amounted to 151.683 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 59.2 percent month on month. The average price was 4,315.6 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 10.6 percent month on month.
Compared with February 2017, there was a decrease of 5.5 percent in quantity, a decrease of 2.0 percent in value, and an increase of 3.8 percent in average price. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
