BEIJING, March 19 (Xinhua) – Xinhua Silk Road, a Belt & Road information service platform under Xinhua News Agency, released a series of China monthly import/export reports on tea & Alcoholic drinks together with China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs & Native Produce (CFNA) on March 19.
The series of reports, available at www.xhsilkroad.com, are dedicated to present the latest trend of China’s tea and alcoholic drinks trade with five continents, the Belt & Road Initiative countries, and major regional economies.
According to the China Monthly Import Report on Alcoholic Drinks in January, China’s alcoholic drinks import volume and value both jumped while alcoholic drinks export volume and value dropped.
In January, China imported 643,788,800 U.S. dollars of alcoholic drinks, up 88.6 percent year on year while alcoholic drinks export decreased 12.4 percent year on year to 110,026,500 U.S. dollars.
However, average price of imported alcoholic drinks in January retreated from the same period of 2017 to 2,250.2 U.S. dollars per ton, lower than the export price averaged at 2,914.1 U.S. dollars per ton.
China Monthly Import Report on Tea shows that China’s tea export value in January was much higher than import value but tea import value grew faster than tea export value.
China’s tea import value in January hiked 99.3 percent year on year to 14,225,600 U.S. dollars and export value grew 24.7 percent year on year to 148,888,500 U.S. dollars.
The import volume reached 3,196.5 tons of tea in January, up 98.8 percent year on year, and the export volume was 30,856.8 tons of tea, down 0.2 percent year on year.
Average price of imported tea in January stood at 4,450.4 U.S. dollars per ton, and that of exported one at 4,825.1 U.S. dollars per ton.
The series of reports focused on promoting unimpeded trade between China and related countries and by studying the trends, market distribution, trade modes, and enterprises involved, aimed at helping Chinese and foreign importers and exporters of alcoholic drinks and tea to discern market changes.
The series of reports is a form of think-tank consulting services of Xinhua Silk Road. Launched in July 2017, Xinhua Silk Road has established a product and services system consisting of Chinese and English databases and websites, credit inquiry, consulting and think tank, and deal matching services in a bid to provide business opportunities for all parties participating in the Belt and Road construction.
CFNA was founded in 1988 and is the largest organization engaged in food and farm produce import and export in China. Currently, CFNA has 43 commodity branches and more than 6,600 enterprises members, whose food and farm produce import and export value make up over 70 percent of the total in China.
