Chapter I. Summary
China imported 59,731.5 tons of beer in January 2018, an increase of 13.4 percent month on month. The import value amounted to 65.11 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 12.6 percent month on month. The average price was 1,090.0 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 0.7 percent month on month. Compared with January 2017r, there was an increase of 84.1 percent in quantity, an increase of 79.9 percent in value, and a decrease of 2.3 percent in average unit price.
In terms of import origin by continents, Asia exported 8,381.3 tons of beer in January 2018, an increase of 442.6 percent year on year, or 7.04 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 456.6 percent year on year, at an average price of 839.6 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 2.6 percent year on year; Europe exported 35,926.4 tons, an increase of 37.4 percent year on year, or 39.67 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 38.9 percent year on year, at an average price of 1,104.2 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 1.1 percent year on year; South America exported 15,076.5 tons, an increase of 239.3 percent year on year, or 17.54 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 212.9 percent year on year, at an average price of 1,163.2 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 7.8 percent year on year; North America exported 264.7 tons, an increase of 14.2 percent year on year, or 0.69 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 38.3 percent year on year, at an average price of 2,599.8 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 21.2 percent year on year; Oceania exported 82.6 tons, a decrease of 5.5 percent year on year, or 0.18 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 33.7 percent year on year, at an average price of 2,172.4 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 29.8 percent year on year.
Among all the countries and regions that exported beer to China in January 2018, Mexico ranked first in terms of value with 17.52 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 213.6 percent year on year; Germany ranked second with 10.93 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 62.0 percent year on year; Portugal ranked third with 9.46 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 120.9 percent year on year.
