Chapter I. Summary
China imported 286.11 million tons of alcoholic drinks in January 2018, an increase of 108.4 percent month on month. The import value of alcoholic drinks amounted to 643.79 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 33.9 percent month on month, and the average price is 2,250.2 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 35.7 percent month on month. Compared with January of last year, there is an increase of 180 percent in quantity, an increase of 88.6 percent in value, and a decrease of 32.6 percent in average price.
In terms of import origins by continent, Asia exported 39,937.2 tons of alcoholic drinks to China in January 2018,an increase of 647.4 percent year on year, or 44.68 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 343.4 percent year on year, at an average price of 1,118.7 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 40.7 percent year on year; Africa exported 3,615.8 tons, an increase of 93.2 percent year on year, or 6.70 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 122.2 percent year on year, at an average price of 1,851.6 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 15 percent year on year; Europe exported 92,602.7 tons, an increase of 40.3 percent year on year, or 372.15 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 64.8 percent year on year, at an average price of 4,018.8 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 17.4 percent year on year; South America exported 34,055.5 tons, an increaseof 108 percent year on year, or 63.10 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 81.3 percent year on year, at an average price of 1,852.8 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 12.8 percent year on year; North America exported 93,636.1 tons in quantity, an increase of 5,755.4 percent year on year, or 54.34 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 524.2 percent year on year, at an average price of 580.3 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 89.3 percent year on year; Oceania exported 22,261.3 tons, an increase of 102.7 percent year on year, or 102.83 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 74.5 percent year on year, at an average price of 4,619.3 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 13.9 percent year on year.
In January 2018, among all the countries and regions that exported alcoholic drinks to China, in terms of value, France ranked first with 249.56 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 62.8 percent year on year; Australia ranked second with 100.17 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 78.8 percent year on year; the United States ranked third with 53.16 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 592.8 percent year on year.
