BEIJING, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Outbound investment has already become an important way to advance the Belt and Road construction, from the perspective of the development in recent years, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) at a press conference on Monday.
China has paid equal attention to the "coming in" and "going global" and supported the competent enterprises to go global for outbound investment and win-win cooperation. The outbound investment has also been a significant way for the domestic enterprises to deeply participate in the international division of labor and optimize allocation of their resources, said the NDRC.
In order to guide healthy development of the outbound investment, relevant regulators have repeatedly explained management direction and regulatory focus of the outbound investment, and taken measures to strengthen authenticity and compliance management, said Yan Pengcheng, spokesperson for the NDRC.
In 2018, China will continuously support competent enterprises to bring forth innovative methods for outbound investment and carry out authentic and compliant outbound investment. It will put in place measures of punishing the entities severely breaking their promises in the field of the foreign economic cooperation.
Meanwhile, the NDRC will build an outbound investment management and service network system to allow majority of the outbound investment procedures to be handled online. Besides, the NDRC will work with relevant departments to strengthen coordination in releasing the outbound investment information, building the investment cooperation mechanism, and promoting protection of overseas interests, to jointly serve the domestic enterprises' "going global", according to Yan.
