NANJING, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Security officials attending an international forum on transnational oil and gas pipelines have agreed to enhance cooperation on intelligence exchange and verification.
The consensus was reached during the third Lianyungang Forum, which concluded Tuesday in the port city of Lianyungang in eastern China's Jiangsu Province.
The forum attracted representatives from law enforcement agencies in 34 countries and three international organizations.
They agreed to put in place a risk assessment and early warning mechanism to handle security threats to transnational pipelines, in addition to a regular joint consultation mechanism.
Moreover, new platforms were proposed for information sharing and operation coordination on broader security cooperation. Enditem
