GUANGZHOU, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- China has established close cooperation with Uganda in various sectors and Guangzhou province has played and will continue to play a key role in boosting China-Africa cooperation, said Solomon Rutega, leader of the Consular Corps in Guangzhou and Consul General of the Republic of Uganda in Guangzhou.
Solomon Rutega made the remark while delivering a speech at the "The 21st Century Maritime Silk Road" Forum on International Communication and Chinese (Guangdong) Companies Going Global Wednesday.
Free environments in Uganda and in Africa are friendly to Chinese investors, Rutega said.
According to the diplomat, a number of infrastructure constructions have been launched in Africa, including a key railway network, which is supposed to link Mombasa, the largest port in East Africa, with countries in West Africa.
"These projects are highly welcome as they will increase Africa’s investment and cross-border trade, and eventually, improve ordinary people’s lives in Uganda", he said.
Uganda expects to take the forum as a platform and a bridge for the two countries further expanding their cooperation network. The consular corps is greatly impressed by the openness and inclusiveness, innovativeness and creativity, as well as beautiful environment of Zhuhai city, Rutega added. (Contributed by Luo Jingjing)
