BEIJING, Nov. 27 (Xinhua)--“The 21st Century Maritime Silk Road" Forum on International Communication and Chinese (Guangdong) Companies Going Global is to be held in Zhuhai on November 29, 2017.
According to the organizer, the Forum aims to integrate resources at home and abroad, provide suggestions to companies in going global, create an international exchange platform for companies’ cooperation, dialogues and research achievement publication and promote economic and trade cooperation between China and foreign countries.
Currently, the world economy is gaining good momentum. According to relevant international organization, the world economy is expected to grow 3.5% in 2017. However, the world economy is still confronted with many uncertainties due to lingering problems. In this context, experts on The 21st Maritime Silk Road Forum will discuss topics and provide suggestions as follows.

Since the middle of last century, the globalization process of trade and investment has been accelerated, which promoted world economic development. China is both a beneficiary and a contributor. The Forum will focus on major areas and key projects in going global of infrastructure construction, capacity cooperation, financial globalization and innovations in cultural industry, discuss new opportunities in the seeking of new economic driving forces under the Belt and Road Initiative through communications among governments, enterprises, domestic and foreign institutions and experts.
Publicity
Cultural exchanges and learning cannot be realized without media. One of the main purposes of the Forum is to guide domestic and international communities in understanding of the Belt and Road Initiative and development prospect of China, build international consensus, strengthen communication between domestic and foreign media and enhance China’s image.

The forum will also promote and implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the Belt and Road Initiative, enhance international communication, influence and motivation of Chinese wisdom and solution, encourage Chinese companies going global and integrate in the world’s development.
Suggestions will be provided on the Forum
Firstly, the dialogues between Chinese and foreign media need to be strengthened. Chinese and foreign media are supposed to work closely to spread the excellent cultures and build a good international media environment. Such cooperation will also serve as an important way to enhance the understanding and friendship between different countries. In the new era, international mainstream media are playing an indispensable role in spreading information, boosting trusts and building consensus.
Secondly, the trade framework under the initiative of “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” need to be reshaped with jointed efforts. Trade connectivity is a major part of the Belt and Road Initiative. Guangdong is one of the starting points of the Maritime Silk Road and the frontier of China’s reform and opening up, with its international trade leading the whole country.
Therefore, in order to achieve an opening up at a higher level, a bigger economic and trade scenario and a sharper international competitive edge, the Forum will invite personages from political, business, financial, academic and media communities to share their insights on the opportunities, difficulties and solutions as well as the new frontiers, changes and trend in international trade in building the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” from the perspective of trade rules, e-commerce, warehousing and logistics, trade financing and brand building.
Located in Southern China, Guangdong, as the pioneer of the country’s reform and opening up, has been urging its companies to going global. In the past 10 years, Guangdong leaded all the other provinces, cities and regions in terms of total outbound investment. On the Forum, the “Action Report 2017 for Guangdong Companies Going Global under the Belt and Road Initiative” will be released and a high-tech and interactive outcome exhibition for the going global of Guangdong companies will be showed.
Thirdly, research on life science and Health Silk Road need to be strengthened and built. In the speech at the Legislative Chamber of the Uzbek Supreme Assembly in June 2016, Chinese President Xi Jinping pointed out that we need to deepen cooperation in medical care and health, strengthen win-win cooperation in the alert of communicable diseases, disease prevention and control, medical assistance and traditional medicine, and build Health Silk Road.
China has made huge contribution to global life science with brilliant achievements over the past decades. The Forum will invite academic and business communities at home and abroad to share their visions on ways of promoting Health Silk Road construction from the perspectives of the innovation and application of life science and technologies.
