BEIJING, Nov.23 (Xinhua) -- More than 6,000 China-Europe freight trains have been dispatched since the dispatch of the first one in 2011, according to a source with China Railway Corporation (CRC). More than 3,000 such trains had been dispatched in 2017 as of November 11, achieving a new annual high in number and being in excess of the total dispatched during 2011-2016.
China-Europe freight trains have shown a good momentum as a major move to press ahead with the Belt and Road construction, speed up traffic connection and unimpeded trade among the countries along the Belt and Road, according to a head of the relevant department of CRC. To date 57 operation lines have been plotted and such trains have been dispatched from 35 domestic cities to 34 cities in 12 European countries, according to the source.
