PHNOM PENH, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- A Cambodia-China's Fujian Province business forum was held here on Tuesday, aiming at further promoting trade, investment and tourism relations between Cambodia and China, officials said.
The half-day forum was attended by more than 30 Fujian entrepreneurs and about 100 Cambodian business people.
Huang Dezhi, deputy director of the Commerce Department in southeast China's Fujian Province, said the visiting Chinese entrepreneurs were specialized in agriculture, food processing, energy development, port shipping, logistics, and tourism.
"The forum is vital for entrepreneurs of the two countries to explore opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment and tourism," he said during an opening speech.
He said the forum was part of the joint effort by the Chinese and Cambodian entrepreneurs in promoting economic and trade cooperation under the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative.
Sok Chenda, Secretary General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, said, "Chinese investors have actively contributed to boosting socio-economic development in Cambodia."
He said, "I'm confident that with the active participation from Chinese investors, all cooperation between Cambodia and China under the Belt and Road Initiative will be successful."
Cambodian Commerce Ministry Secretary of State Chhuon Dara said the forum was also important to further enhance tourism cooperation and he believed that it would contribute to attracting 2 million Chinese tourists to Cambodia by 2020.
At the end of the forum, business executives of the two countries signed several trade and investment cooperation deals.
