Qinhuangdao Port launches third direct foreign trade route -- A Hong Kong registered ship recently berthed at Qinhuangdao Port of north China's Hebei province having arrived from the Port of Davao in the Philippines.The ship’s presence signaled that Qinhuangdao Port has launched a new direct route to Southeast Asia.

China signs preferential loan agreement with Cuba on 50MW PV module project --China signed on October 25 a framework agreement with Cuba on providing a preferential loan, according to the report of People's Daily.The agreement covers the previously agreed projects of 50MW PV module automatic production line and reconstruction of home appliances industrial park.

Biodiesel made with recycled gutter oil enters Chinese gas stations -- Twenty sanitary vehicles filled biodiesel produced from recycled gutter oil at a Sinopec gas station in Shanghai on October 31, marking recycled waste fuel entering the fuel market in China.The gas station in Fengxian District has two biodiesel oil tanks. The fuel is being sold at 5.72 yuan (0.86 U.S. dollars) per liter compared with 6.02 yuan for standard diesel.

China, Bangladesh sign framework agreement on oil pipeline project --The Bangladeshi government signed a framework agreement with China on October 29 for construction of a 220-km pipeline to carry oil from tankers in the Bay of Bengal to storage plants on the mainland. Bangladesh's Economic Relations Department (ERD) Secretary Kazi Shofiqul Azam and Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ma Mingqiang signed the framework agreement in the capital of Dhaka.

Chinese merchant opens grand shopping center in Chile's capital -- A grand shopping center owned by a local Chinese business man was inaugurated on October 28 in Chile's capital. The 40,000 square-meter Asia Pacific Shopping Center is located on central Alameda Avenue in the bustling Estacion central district of Santiago's metropolitan area.

CNPC signs cooperation agreements with ENH -- China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) recently entered into a number of cooperation agreements with Mozambique's Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH).

The agreements cover oil and gas exploration, engineering technologies and construction, refining & chemical production, logistical support and other matters. The two sides have also jointly established the China-Mozambique Petroleum Engineering Corporation.

Brazil's auction of pre-salt oil exploration blocks gets 1.9 billion U.S. dollars -- An auction held October 27 for the exploration of several areas of pre-salt oil reserves got a total of 6.15 billion reals, or about 1.9 billion U.S. dollars, said Brazil's National Petroleum Agency (ANP).The auction was carried out by the ANP in a new model for oil exploration in Brazil, with the participation of Brazil's state-run oil and gas giant Petrobras as the operator of the pre-salt blocks being no longer mandatory, allowing a more active participation of foreign companies. During the auction, Petrobras led the consortiums winning the exploration rights for the three blocks of Sapinhoa, Peroba and Alto de Cabo Frio Central. Chinese companies Sinopec, CNOOC and CNODC participated in the consortiums winning the above three blocks.

Iran launches first hybrid power plant -- The first hybrid solar and wind power plant in Iran was launched in the northern Mazandaran Province, the Financial Tribune daily reported on October 31."The power plant has 3 kilowatts (kw) of power generation capacity, of which 2.5 kw are produced from wind energy and the rest is solar," Qasem Shahabi, managing director of the Power Distribution Company of Mazandaran Province, was quoted as saying.

Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia inaugurate newly built Asia-Europe railway -- Top leaders of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia opened on October 30 a newly built railway line which connects the three countries in Azerbaijan's capital city of Baku, linking central Asia and Europe through the Caucasus region. The opening of the 826-km Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line marks the conclusion of a 10-year project to open a rail corridor carrying cargo and passengers between the two continents.
