BEIJING, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese bike-sharing company Ofo announced on Thursday that its bike-sharing feature is now accessible via the top ride-hailing firm Didi Chuxing.
The tie-up means Didi Chuxing users can easily rent an Ofo two-wheeler, which is reportedly to be first carried out in Beijing and then nationally. Didi Chuxing users need to update their phones with the latest app and follow the necessary procedures in order to rent an Ofo bike.
The two companies will provide full access to each other in fields of user registration, verification, deposits, payment and customer service.
Since Didi Chuxing invested in financing for Ofo, rumors have continued to swirl about joint collaboration.
One notable feature of the integration is close cooperation between Didi's bus arrival inquiry service and Ofo. Developers say the use of artificial intelligence technology means an optimized connection between buses and bikes. For example, after inputting the starting point and destination, a user can have multiple choices to use an Ofo bike and Didi bus.
Ofo said it has more than 4 million bikes and tens of millions of users with the service available in 81 cities in four countries. (ecns.cn)
