BEIJING, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Huawei Technologies, which released the industry’s first artificial intelligence smartphone yesterday, predicts AI to become popular among new models in 2017.
“Smartphones will become powerful beyond people’s imagination in the next five years with new features like AI, 5G and virtual reality,” said Zhao Ming, president of Huawei Honor which targets young consumers, in Shenzhen. “We are glad to test the water first.”
Huawei Honor Magic’s AI includes infrared camera, facial and voice recognition. The new phone, released in Shenzhen, costs 3,699 yuan (US$536) and customers could pre-order the phone online from yesterday. (Shanghai Daily)
