Ford China sales up 24 percent in September

Abstract : Ford Motor Co. announced on its website Tuesday that its sales in China grew 24 percent year on year in September.

CHICAGO, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Ford Motor Co. announced on its website Tuesday that its sales in China grew 24 percent year on year in September.

To be specific, Changan Ford Automobile sold 84,335 vehicles in China in September and a total of 663,282 units in the first nine months, up 25 percent and 14 percent, respectively; Jiangling Motor Corp. sold 23,416 vehicles in September and a total of 182,629 units in the first nine months, posting a 28-percent growth and a steady equivalent, respectively.

Ford's sales in China totaled 879,559 units in the first nine months, up 11 percent year on year.

Ford's increasing sales in China has to a large extent come from its expanded SUV lineup.

The Dearborn-based automaker said the sales of its EcoSport, Kuga, Edge, Everest and Explorer, and Lincoln MKC, MKX and Navigator in China totaled nearly 230,000 vehicles in the first nine months, up 18 percent from the same period of 2015.

Luxury brand Lincoln reported sales of 20,996 units in the first nine months, up 191 percent year on year. Enditem
