XINING, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Construction has started on Qinghai Copper Corp's cathode copper project which is expected to yield 100,000 metric tons (tonnes) of cathode copper and 440,000 tonnes of sulfuric acid annually.
Qinghai Copper Corp, a subsidiary of Western Mining Group, planned to invest a total of 2.4 billion yuan in the project which is expected to be completed and put into service in July 2017.
After its operation, the project is expected to generate 6 billion yuan of sales revenue annually and offer nearly 1,000 jobs, said Zhang Yongli, chairman of the Western Mining Group. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
