BEIJING, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) - Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Environmental Science, Jiangsu Environmental Monitoring Center, Jiangsu Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and Duke Kunshan University recently signed an agreement on building a joint ozone research center in the province, according to local reports on Tuesday.
Named as Regional Ozone Sino-U.S. Collaborative Center (ROSUC), the center would be located on campus ofDukeKunshanUniversity in Suzhou of east China's Jiangsuprovince.
An ozone forecasting and monitoring system would be set up to reduce exposure to ozone and relevant health risks to the public.
The center also plans to put up policy suggestions to the government to realize ozone control with low costs and high efficiency. (Edited by Liu Yanan, liuyn@xinhua.org)
