KUNMING, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Investment contracts involving about 500 billion yuan (73.5 billion U.S. dollars) were signed at a major expo for south and southeast Asia held in southwest China's Yunnan Province.
During the weeklong South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair, 357 domestic investment projects worth 488 billion yuan were signed, according to Liu Qilin, deputy head of the expo's executive committee.
"The expo deepened economic and trade cooperation between China and other countries, and boosted the building of the Belt and Road," Liu said.
Thirty-two projects involving the use of foreign investment were inked with a total value of 10.7 billion yuan. And Chinese companies signed deals involving 3.5 billion yuan for investment abroad.
More than 4,000 companies from 86 countries and regions participated in the event, which closed Sunday in Kunming, the provincial capital.
The commodity sale revenue of the expo reached 200 million yuan. Enditem
