NANNING, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region will open a luxury cruise line between Fangchenggang Port to Da Nang and Nha Trang in Vietnam.
The passenger liner will start service on Aug. 29 and is expected to extend to Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia in the future, said the region's tourism development commission Sunday.
The international luxury ship, exclusively invested and operated by China, is over 180 meters long and 25 meters wide. The 24,500-tonne ship can hold 960 passengers.
Guangxi's ports of Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang are connected with foreign port cities, including Singapore, Bangkok and Jakarta.
The region is developing a cruise industry, with more cruise lines expected to open to link Fangchenggang with other ASEAN countries. Enditem
