COLOMBO, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's largest business organization, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC), said on Monday that it would hold a mega investment and business conclave here this month to attract foreign direct investors.
In a statement, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce said the event titled "Sri Lanka Investment & Business Conclave 2017" will be held from May 30 to June 1.
Business partners will gather for exports and imports and also to promote tourism, in a bid to help propel the nation's economic growth to greater heights, the statement said.
"The Conclave 2017, which will be held under the theme 'Growth through Partnerships' will focus on bringing in investment into the areas of agriculture, apparel, education, export manufacturing, export services, infrastructure, knowledge services, tourism and leisure, power and energy, telecommunications and related services, ports development, distribution of petroleum related products such as LPG and LNG and recycling of waste," the CCC said.
The 2-day event will provide potential investors with an overall outlook of Sri Lanka's investment climate and also make room for establishing links between both local and foreign investors.
Sri Lanka's diplomatic missions overseas and the 127 chambers of commerce, which the Ceylon Chamber has partnerships is also promoting the conclave worldwide.
The inaugural business conclave held last year attracted 127 foreign participants from 25 countries. Enditem
