BEIJING, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese consortium recently officially signed a 1.85-billion-U.S. dollar contract to build a light rail line in Kano State, Nigeria.
The consortium comprises China Railway 18th Bureau Group Co., Ltd. and China Railway Construction Electrification Bureau Group Co., Ltd., which are subsidiaries of China Railway Construction Co.
It was reported that the rail line has a total length of 74.3 kilometers.
In August 2016, the consortium received a temporary award by Kano State’s Ministry of Works, Housing & Transport for the project. Enditem (Edited by Yang Yifan, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
