China Electric Power Equipment and Technology Co., Ltd. (CET), a wholly-owned subsidiary of State Grid Corporation of China, completed integrating the IB section of new Lahore 500 kV transmission line in Pakistan to grid on Dec. 31, 2016.
The integration marked the 500 kV section has been successfully handed over to its owner.
The new Lahore 500 kV transmission line is part of the Lahore-outskirt-located 151-kilometer-long Transmission Line Corridor, which, composed of two common-tower double-circuit lines, also includes a 220 kV common-tower double-circuit line.
As the second 500 kV transmission line undertaken by CET in Pakistan, its smooth operation will help ease the increasing power supply pressure in Lahore, the second largest city in Pakistan and even the whole Punjab, the most populous province in the country.
It also serves as a model for power cooperation along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the Belt and Road.
