BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- China's State Grid Corp announced recently that it has signed a deal to build a 4000 megawatt high-voltage, direct current (HVDC) power transmission line in Pakistan.
The project is valued at 1.5 billion U.S.dollars.
The power transmission line will be first of its kind in Pakistan and will connect southern Pakistani town of Matiari with easternmost city of Lahore.
The project is the significant initiative for promoting China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the latest round of Chinese investment in Pakistan.
