BEIJING, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Hubei Hongyuan Power Engineering Co. announced recently that it has inked an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract with Shar Wind Turbines LLP for the construction of a 37.5 MW wind power plant in Kazakhstan.
This is the first wind power project in Kazakhstan, which is the biggest landlocked country in the world. It is also the first EPC project the Chinese company has clinched in Central Asia, according to the announcement.
With registered capital at 1.5 billion yuan (about 215.85 million U.S. dollars), Hubei Hongyuan Power Engineering Co. was formed on the basis of four local companies in Hubei with investment by Power Construction Corporation of China. Its main business includes planning, designing, consulting, supervising, investing and financing, general contracting of project construction and operating for infrastructure projects.
