On December 1, 2016 of local time in Belarus, the first generating set (No. 4 set) in the hydropower station in Vitebsk of Belarus constructed by the 4th Operation Division of China National Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNEEC) was integrated with power grid and then the follow-up load rejection test was finished smoothly.
The completion of the integration with the power grid laid a solid foundation for the final hand-over of the whole project.
CNEEC signed an EPC contract for the hydropower station involving a total investment of 189 million US dollars in Vitebsk of Belarus on December 27, 2010.
The project, predicted to be completed and enter operation from 2017, was the largest hydropower station planned by the country at that time, with its installed capacity at 40,000 kw and was designed to generate 132 million kWh of electricity per year.
