BEIJING, May 19 (Xinhua) -- A special program launched by China (Hangzhou) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Area to select innovative cross-border E-commerce projects so far has received 225 applications.
Among them, 17 came from overseas, including countries of the United States, Germany, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Ethiopia, Nigeria, etc.
Many well-known companies, such as Kaola.com, beibei.com and Google Adwords have submitted their project applications.
The program, E-commerce Embrace the World, launched in this April by China's first such pilot area located in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang Province, was designed to select around the world 100 innovative cross-border e-commerce projects, build 100 service teams, and provide service for thousands of small-and medium-sized enterprises engaged in foreign trade and manufacturing in Hangzhou.
The program will be carried out in three stages, which is to last until mid-November.

The second stage is project practice, which collates and selects projects and types the projects into database, and in addition, by means of carrying out road show, organizing teams and platforms, connecting industrial parks, ect., to make full-way tracing and promote implementation of the projects.
The third stage of project evaluation is set to develop standards for project selection and choose excellent items through online selection, performance assessment, expert review and result feedback.
The selection team will award prizes worth about 10 million yuan to qualified innovative cross-border e-commerce projects, build "one for one" offline service teams, recommend suitable industrial parks for enterprises willing to land their projects, cooperate with leading domestic investment institutions and banks to provide investment and financing services for selected projects as well as launch online service platforms and set up online service channels for innovative projects.
