BEIJING, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- The guideline for development of smart sensor industry for 2017-2019, formulated by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), is expected to be unveiled soon, said Guo Yuansheng, chief engineering with MIIT Electronic Component Industry Development Research Institute at the Global Sensor and Intelligentialize Development Summit held recently in Beijing.
The three-year guideline has spelled out the trend of intelligence for sensor development, and determined a development route with combination of MEMS and integrated circuit technology for sensor industry, said Guo.
China has listed sensor industry as one of the strategic development targets in the national development plan for 2016-2020. Guo forecast China's sensor output would exceed 1 trillion units in the coming five years. (Edited by Li Xiaohui, lixh@xinhua.org)
