DUBAI, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Bombay, Delhi, Manila and London were top destinations for travelers through Abu Dhabi Airport in June, said Acting Chief Operations Officer of the airport, Ahmed Al-Shamsi.
Abu Dhabi International Airport is the civil aviation hub in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) capital, Abu Dhabi.
Al-Shamsi said air traffic through Abu Dhabi International Airport in June saw an 11 percent increase for Delhi-bound travelers, while air traffic to London increased by 6 percent compared to the same month last year.
He added that the airport was maintaining its strong growth curve, welcoming a total of 11.92 million travelers during the first half of 2017, up 0.7 percent from 11.84 million during the same period in 2016.
Abu Dhabi airport, home of the UAE's national carrier Etihad Airways, currently undergoes 2.94 billion dollars' expansion.
Through the new Midfield Terminal complex, scheduled to be completed by 2019, it will boost passenger capacity to 45 million travelers per year, up from 24.5 million in 2016.
