BEIJING, March 16 (Xinhua) -- China’s automobile production and sales continued to expand in the first two months of this year.
From January to February, about 4.46 million vehicles were sold in China, up 8.8 percent year on year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
China produced 4.53 million automobiles in the first two months of this year, up 11.1 percent from a year earlier.
In February, vehicle production rose 33.8 percent year on year to 2.16 million units, while China’s auto sales increased 22.4 percent to 1.94 million units.
New energy vehicle production and sales surged 15.5 percent and 30.3 percent, respectively to 1.8 million units equally in February.
