HANOI, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- China-Vietnam traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership have continued to witness positive developments, a Vietnamese party leader said here on Wednesday.
Vo Van Thuong, head of the Central Committee's Communication and Education Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam, made the remarks at a reception marking the 68th founding of the People's Republic of China held by the Chinese Embassy to Vietnam.
Speaking at the event, Thuong said that the good neighborliness and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China are in the fundamental and long-term interests of both peoples as well as for peace, stability and development of the region and the world.
Vietnam has always attached importance to strengthening the traditional friendship and developing strong relations with greater efficiency between the two parties and the two countries in a stable and long-term framework for the benefit of the two peoples, the region and the world, said Thuong.
For his part, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong said he is glad to see China-Vietnam relations maintaining a sound momentum of development, calling on the two countries to make joint efforts to further deepen the traditional "comrades-plus-brothers" friendship between the two countries and the two peoples.
Promoted and guided by the leaders of the two countries, the two sides have been promoting exchanges and cooperation in various fields in depth and substance, said Hong, adding that China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership will certainly have new and greater developments.
