Abstract : Iranian First Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi said on Sunday that his country is resolved to strengthen bilateral ties with Oman, Tasnim news agency reported.

TEHRAN, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Iranian First Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi said on Sunday that his country is resolved to strengthen bilateral ties with Oman, Tasnim news agency reported.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is serious about forging more consolidated ties with Oman," Sarmadi said in a meeting with Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, the visiting secretary general of Oman's ministry of foreign affairs, in the capital Tehran.

Sarmadi highlighted President Hassan Rouhani's recent visit to Oman, saying the two nations have the necessary political will to boost mutual relations.

Tehran-Muscat ties are exemplary in the region, he added.

For his part, Hamood Albusaidi also voiced Oman's willingness and seriousness to deepen relations with Iran.

Good ties between the two countries will help improve stability and security in the volatile region, he added.
