HO CHI MINH CITY, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's southern Dong Nai province has just spotted a new case of Zika infection, lifting the total number of such patients in the locality to seven.
The latest Zika case is a 37-year-old woman from Thong Nhat district, the provincial Preventive Medicine Center said Friday. Previous cases were detected in Nhon Trach district and Bien Hoa city.
Vietnam reported seven Zika patients last month, according to the country's Preventive Medicine Department.
By the end of last year, Vietnam detected 155 Zika cases, including 145 from Ho Chi Minh City.
Relevant agencies Vietnamese localities hit by Zika outbreaks have been urging residents to kill mosquitoes and their larvae, use mosquito nets when sleeping, and minimize travel to affected areas.
